National Insitute for the Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) invites application for the following posts.

1. Assistant Professor (Special Education):01 Post,Payscale : Rs.15,600-39,100 + GP Rs.6,600., Qualification : 1. Master’s in Social Sciences with M.Ed. in Special Education(MR)/ M.Ed with DSE(MR) or equivalent qualifications and Ph.D with dissertation topic in the field of education of children with mental retardation. 2. Five years experience in teaching professionals or personnel/research in the field of Special Education (MR).
2. Assistant Professor (Paediatrics) : 01 Post,Payscale : Rs.15,600-39,100 + GP Rs.6,600., Qualification : 1. A post graduate in Medical Degree, eg., MD in Paediatrics of a recognized University or equivalent qualification. 2. Four years teaching and/or research experience in the subject specialty after post graduate qualification.
3. Assistant Professor (Rehabilitation Psychology ) : 01 Post,Payscale : Rs.15,600-39,100 + GP Rs.6,600.,Qualification : 1) Two year M.Phil in Clinical Psychology or Rehabilitation Psychology from reputed institutions such as NIMHANS, Bangalore, CIP, Ranchi and NIMH, Secunderabad etc. OR Ph.D in Child/ Experimental/ Community/ Social/ Educational Psychology as per the requirement of the particular position available for recruitment. 2) Registered as a professional with MCI/RCI. 3) Four years experience of teaching/research in the relevant field.
4. Lecturer (Special Education ) : 01 Post,Payscale : Rs.15,600-39,100 + GP Rs.5,400., Qualification : 1. Masters Degree from a recognized University in any subject. 2. One year Diploma in Special Education or B.Ed in Special Education of Mentally Retarded. 3. Two years experience after the qualification in Special Education.
5. Assistant Administrative Officer : 01 Post,Payscale : Rs.9,300-34,800 + GP Rs.4,600., Qualification : 1. Degree from a recognized University 2. Five years experience in establishment in supervisory capacity. 3. Knowledge of Central Govt. Rules.
6. Speech Pathologist : 01 Post,Payscale : Rs.9,300-34,800 + GP Rs.4,200., Qualification : M.Sc in Speech & Hearing or equivalent from recognized University/Institution.
7. Rehabilitation Therapist :01 Post,Payscale : Rs.5,200 - 20,200 + GP Rs.2,400.,Qualification : 1)Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Retardation/ Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Therapy/ Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Services (Mental Retardation) OR Postgraduate Diploma in Early Intervention OR Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology.
8. Driver : 01 Post,Payscale : Rs.5,200 - 20,200 + GP Rs.1,900.,Qualification :1. Eighth class pass, possessing heavy vehicle/ light vehicle/ running license from the competent authority with two years driving experience. He should be able to undertake minor repairs and attend to the maintenance and upkeep of the vehicles.
9. Attender : 01 Post.Payscale : Rs.4,440-7,440 + GP Rs.1,300.,Qualification : 1. Passed in VIII class 2. Ability to read and write English.
10. Sweeper : 01 Post.Payscale : Rs.4,440-7,440 + GP Rs.1,300.,Qualification : 1. Passed in VIII class
11. Home Visitor : 01 Post,Payscale : Rs.9,300-34,800 + GP Rs.4,200., Qualification : 1. Degree from a recognized University 2. Master’s Degree in Social Work.
12. Rehabilitation Therapist :01 Post,Payscale : Rs.5,200 - 20,200 + GP Rs.2,400.,Qualification : 1)Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Retardation/ Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Therapy/ Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Services (Mental Retardation) OR Postgraduate Diploma in Early Intervention OR Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology.
13. Ayah : 01 Post., Payscale : Rs.4,440-7,440 + GP Rs.1,300.,Qualification : 1. Middle pass.
