Applications are invited from wiling retired Assistant/UDC of Puducherry Government service below the age of 63 yrs. on the date of notification for working as Assistant in the Karaikal Polytechnic College, Karaikal and Women’s Polytechnic College, Karaikal under the control of PIPMATE, Puducherry on contract basis for a consolidated pay. The Union Territory of Pondicherry has its significance due to late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who has envisaged a special status for Puducherry to preserve the window to the French culture in India. Puducherry comprises of four regions viz. Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam. Pondicherry and Karaikal are enclaves in Tamil Nadu State; Mahe forms an enclave in Kerala, and Yanam in Andhra Pradesh. The union territory with a population of about eight lakhs having several reputed industries which has been progressing all these years and is poised for a spectacular growth , which is due to the industrial friendly policies and tax benefit provided to this union territory . Pondicherry has deservedly magnetized many large industrial houses of national repute and several renowned industries look for well trained technicians to meet their human resource needs. The government runs almost all categories of professional institutions for the benefit of the society.
The union territory of Pondicherry has totally five Polytechnic colleges one run by the government of Pondicherry and five others by a separate society called PIPMATE funded and fully sponsored by the government of Pondicherry.
The polytechnic situated in Karaikal called "KARAIKAL POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE" is beautifully located in a 5 hectare plot. It is located on the national highway at a distance of about 130 Kms south of Pondicherry. It is functioning in an elegant, architect designed, spacious, and new building, built under the assistance of World Bank. It is provided with all modern laboratories, hi-tech equipments, a fully equipped students centre, a well developed play ground, a learning Resource user centre etc. and all others that are required for all around development of the students.
